Tropical Depression One-M | Winds: 30 kt |
Pressure: 1005 mbar | |
Advisory 3 / 6:00 AM EEST, Friday October 25, 2019 | |
The depression in the eastern Mediterranean Sea remains disorganized, with convection elongated across a west-to-east axis and not centrally focused. Earlier scatterometer data also indicated that the center was elongated. Given little change in appearance since earlier, the initial intensity remains 30kt. Over the next day to day in a half, some development is possible while the system remains offshore. However, the expectation is that only minimal development would argue, and it remains possible that One-M fails to ever strengthen given its close proximity to land. Dissipation is expected about 48 hours from now, or perhaps a little sooner. One-M is drifting south tonight, but the system should curve toward the southeast tomorrow as it rounds the base of an upper-level trough nearby. This should send the cyclone into the Egyptian coastline a little over 24 hours from now.
