Tropical Depression Henriette Winds: 30 kt
Pressure: 1006 mbar
Advisory 4 / 8:00 PM PDT Monday, August 12, 2019

Henriette has become even less organized since the previous advisory, with a further degradation in the storm's convective pattern, in addition to increased separation between that convection and the center. A series of ASCAT passes around 17z showed tropical storm-force winds. However, satellite intensity estimates do not support tropical storm strength, and given the ragged nature of the system on satellite imagery, I have elected to downgrade Henriette to a tropical depression in this advisory. Upper-level winds will remain hostile for the foreseeable future, while ocean temperatures and mid-level relative humidity values decrease further. This should result in degeneration about 24 hours from now, with dissipation not far behind. As far as track is concerned, Henriette is positioned on the south side of a mid-level ridge. The flow around this ridge will keep the tropical system on a west-northwest heading. After degeneration, and especially around the time of dissipation, Henriette or its remnants may turn west into the low-level easterly trade wind flow.
