|Post-Tropical Cyclone Gil||Winds: 25 kt|
|Pressure: 1010 mbar|
|Advisory 4 / 8:00 AM PDT Sunday, August 4, 2019|
It wasn't a very interesting book, but the book has closed nonetheless on short-lived Gil. The exposed circulation center has failed to produce organized convection during the overnight hours, limited to a few short puffs of immediately displaced convection within the eastern cloudlines. Unfortunately for Gil this fate was set in stone with its genesis occurring in a region with 250-600hPa westerlies. Based on the trends since the last advisory and associated scatterometer data, Gil has been downgraded to a 25 kt post-tropical cyclone. It is also of note that SAB has given Gil the "TOO WEAK" evaluation. The low-level tradewinds should keep Gil on a westward track before the tenuous circulation opens up.
