Post-tropical Cyclone Barbara Winds: 40 kt
Pressure: 1001 mbar
Advisory 26 / 2:00 AM PDT Sat July 6, 2019

Barbara has been devoid of convection near the center for around eighteen hours, only generating sporadic thunderstorms in the northern sector well seperated from the center. Thus, Barbara ceases to meet the criteria for a tropical cyclone and the system has become a post-tropical remnant low. A 0630z ASCAT-A pass showed a small area of 40 kt winds in the northeast quadrant, sufficient to keep the intensity of the post-tropical system at 40 kts.

The remnants of Barbara are still tracking westward as a result of the ridge that has built to its north today. This westerly track will continue as a result of this ridge and the low-level trade winds' effect on the shallow remains of the storm may add a slight southerly component to this track by tomorrow. Dissipation is likely by day 2, and what little remains of the system will pass close to Hawaii by day 3, with minimal effects.
