Remnants of Hector Discussion Number 52

Hector has degenerated into a trough of low pressure. Visible satellite images continue to reveal an exposed swirl to the south and east of deep convection, but no earth-relative westerly winds are present. This is confirmed by a 2239z ASCAT pass that was delayed until after the previous advisory, which showed an elongated and weak east-west wind shift. That same pass showed a small pocket of 40kt winds in the thunderstorm activity north of the trough, verifying the previous advisory's intensity. Regeneration is not expected as Hector enters an increasingly hostile environment.
Until next time, so long, Hector.
