Tropical Storm Debby Discussion Number 8

Debby is on its final leg. Strong wind shear has ripped apart the moderate convection Debby was producing, and the low-level circulation is becoming increasingly elongated as it races toward the northeast ahead of an upper-level trough. Given the earlier ASCAT pass that showed winds of at least 40kt, the initial intensity is set only a little lower at 35kt. Appreciable convection is unlikely to return over cold waters and in an environment of dry air and wind shear, therefore Debby should degenerate to a remnant low later today before dissipating early tomorrow.
