Tropical Storm Debby Discussion Number 6
Wiki-Hurricanes Forecast Center
5:00 PM AST Wed Aug 8 2018
Debby is being affected by about 15kt of wind shear and now moving over ocean temperatures around 25C. As a result, the low-level circulation is becoming elongated and the associated convection is beginning to lose organization. Satellite intensity estimates were T1.5/25kt from SAB and T2.7/39kt from UW-CIMSS ADT. An earlier ASCAT showed peak winds around 35kt, and that is the initial intensity used for this advisory. Debby is moving northeast ahead of an upper-level trough and should continue on this path until the trough causes the tropical cyclone to open up into a trough in about 36 hours.
